Charles Kelley, of Lady Antebellum, wants his son, Ward, to grow up thankful for they time they’ve spent together. That’s why, even when on tour, Kelley makes sure to bring his son and his wife, Cassie, along with him.

According to Taste of Country, Kelley hopes that these opportunities to travel around the world with his family will have a positive influence on his son. “My wife and I have such a strong relationship that it’s just so much better when they’re out with me. Having them with me is so cozy,” he explained. In addition to wanting his son to have positive experiences of what the world has to offer, Kelley also wants these opportunities to help strengthen their father-son relationship. “I also don’t want Ward to grow up [and] be like, ‘I never got to see my dad — he was always traveling,'” Kelley said. He also added how important it was that his son grew up knowing what Kelley did and experience it alongside him. “I want him to be proud of what I’m doing and hope I’m a good example for him,” he said.
