Lake Tahoe Gets Hit by Earthquake on Fault Line that Could Cause Tsunami

The U.S. Geological Survey reported more than 380 people reported feeling the shaking, including people about 50 miles away in Sparks, Nevada. The earthquake that shuck Lake Tahoe early Thursday morning was only a 3.5-magnitude, however the West Tahoe Fault is capable of producing a magnitude-7.3 earthquake and tsunamis up to 30 feet (10 meters) high in the clear blue lake, where million-dollar homes line the shore, researchers said.
