Lil Nas X And Billy Ray’s ‘Old Town Road’ Had Biggest Streaming Week Of All Time

Whether you like it or not, Lil Nas X’s “Old Town Road” is the most viral single of the year so far… and possibly of the entire streaming era. Seriously. Billboard reports that on the Hot 100 chart dated April 20, the Billy Ray Cyrus remix will spend its 2nd week at #1, and it did so with the most weekly streams of ALL time.

During that week, “Old Town Road” shattered the previous record, with 143 million streams (counting both the original version and the remix). Let’s be honest. Their success is because of the controversy surround it and the novelty factor. But good for them! That’s still quite the accomplishment.
