Man Tries Stealing Bike….From In Front Of Police Station

Spoiler alert: it didn’t turn out well for the thief

A police officer in Gladstone, Oregon had one of the easier apprehensions in law enforcement history when the suspect was spotted trying to steal a bicycle that was locked up in front of the Gladstone police station.

Officers inside the station glanced at a security monitor and saw what was taking place just outside their doors. 

“I have not actually seen something that blatant” said Sgt. Carl Bell, “because the officers were inside watching on video camera.”

When asked why he thought stealing anything from in front of a police station was a good idea, the suspect, according to arresting officer Matt Okerman, did not reply.

Which is probably for the best.
