New Charges Against Officers Announced in George Floyd Case

This morning U.S. Sen. Amy Klobuchar announced new charges in the case surrounding the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis. According to our partners at KCRA3:

Charges against Chauvin were increased from 3rd degree murder to 2nd degree murder, while new charges will be placed on the other three officers seen in the video. What charges charges they face are not yet known.

Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison is expected to detail more about the charges in a news conference Wednesday afternoon.

***Updated Information*** Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison upgraded the charge against Chauvin to unintentional second-degree murder. He also charged Thomas Lane, J. Kueng and Tou Thao with aiding and abetting second-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter.
