Today is fallen Officer Tara O’Sullivan’s memorial service. Police say to expect major traffic delays along the procession route. According to KCRA, the 1st procession begins in Elk Grove. Her casket will be moved from the funeral home to Bayside Adventure Church in Roseville at about 8 a.m.
Elk Grove Boulevard will be closed in both directions from Kent Street to Highway 99 starting at about 7:30 am. The road will stay closed until the entire procession has gotten onto Highway 99.
At the end of O’Sullivan’s memorial service, a vehicle procession will go from Bayside Adventure Church back to the Elk Grove area. The procession is expected to leave Roseville at 1:15 p.m. and arrive in the Elk Grove area at 2:30 p.m.
The procession will travel on westbound Interstate 80 until the Marysville Boulevard exit. The procession will then go southbound on Marysville Boulevard and pass O’Sullivan’s police station, the William J. Kinney Police Facility.
The procession will then head east on Arcade Boulevard until the Capital City Freeway. Once at the freeway, the procession will continue westbound, onto southbound Highway 99, until reaching the Elk Grove area.
Once in the Elk Grove area, the procession will travel to private events, which are restricted to the O’Sullivan family and law enforcement personnel only.
