Protesters Showed to Call for Dixon Vice Mayor Resignation After Controversial Anti-LGBTQ Remarks

This has been going on for about a week now after the Vice Mayor of Dixon, Ted Hickman, wrote an article in a local newspaper about having July be ‘SPAM’ month, or Straight Pride American Month. He also referred to gay men as ‘fairies’ which is what mostly upset many in the LGBTQ community. Tuesday morning many protesters showed up to voice their opinion on the matter and for Vice Mayor Hickman to resign due to his allegedly homophobic remarks.
