Nerd Wallet has put together a list of the best places for young families to live in California, and it appears that NorCal is basically the place to be.

In order to compile the list, they took into account affordability, quality schools, future growth and prosperity, and family-friendliness for places that had over 20,000 residents.

The top 10 places are as follows:

  1. San Ramon
  2. Cupertino
  3. Folsom
  4. Beaumont
  5. Rancho Santa Margarita
  6. El Dorado Hills
  7. Fremont
  8. Aliso Viejo
  9. Dublin
  10. Temecula

Elk Grove fell just outside of the list at number 11 and Davis was right behind at 12 followed by Rocklin at 13 and Pleasanton at 15.

Roseville wasn’t too far away, landing at number 25 on the list and Granite Bay came in at 30.

Sacramento itself came in at 277…out of 334. Click here to see the full list.
