Who doesn’t love a good beer? I mean, there are a TON of great Sacramento breweries and it seems like new ones open fairly regularly. In fact, Urban Roots recently opened their brewery and smokehouse at 1322 V St. And they’re off to a great start, considering Tomorrow’s Verse, their Saison, just scored gold at the U.S. Open Beer Championship.

However, there was some stiff competition. Like, 6,300 submissions from as far away as South Korea according to Sac Bee.

Additionally, a few other Sacramento-area breweries took home top honors at the U.S. Open Beer Championship. Crooked Lane Brewing Co. in Auburn won gold for their Thirsty Pretzels Münchner Dunkel. Also, Feather Falls Casino Brewing Co. in Oroville’s Oatmeal Stout got gold, as did FiftyFifty Brewing Co.’s (Truckee) Donner Party Porter.

So, are you a beer fan? What’s your favorite brewery or beer in town? I’m a pretty big fan of Bike Dog and their Milk Stout.
