Sacramento Native NFL Player Out of Prison for Time Served for Murder

Former Carolina Panther and Sacramento native Rae Carruth, now 44, was released from prison Monday in Clinton, N.C.. He served nearly 19 years in prison for conspiring to murder Cherica Adams, who was pregnant with Carruth’s child when she was shot in 1999. A former Valley High School standout in South Sacramento who went on to be a first-round pick for the Carolina Panthers.
