Even legal fireworks can cause problems.  Putting them in a bucket of water when you’re done might not be good enough.   According to kcra.com a family in Elk Grove put their bucket of used, legal fireworks in a bucket.  That bucket was put next to a garbage can which was next to the garage.  The bucket smoldered, caught the garbage can on fire,  and the garbage can caught the garage and house on fire.   The 7 bedroom 5,500 square foot house was gutted.  Fortunately no one was hurt. I can’t imagine trying to explain this to an insurance company.  Here are some pics from KCRA reporter (and good guy) Mike TeSelle.
