It’s not the best shout out Sacramento has ever gotten, but it’s definitely not the worst! Shady Lady Saloon just got a mention in the New York Times thanks to the White Linen cocktail.

The Story Behind The Shady Lady Drink

So, maybe you can tell I wasn’t raised here because I had never heard of the White Linen until today.

The beverage consists of gin, St-Germain elderflower liqueur, lemon juice, sugar, cucumber and soda water.

According to the New York Times article, Rene Dominguez created the drink at the saloon. It then made its way elsewhere when employees left to open or work at other places.
