Shania Twain hopes to shake up the country music genre by participating in seeking talent. She’s a currently a judge on Real Country, alongside Jake Owen and Travis Tritt, a new reality singing competition.

“We have too much of the sameness right now. I’m a little bit bored of it, and I want to pick it up. The only way to do that is to be proactive,” Twain said to E! News. “I wanted a show that, when you talk about diversity, that includes gender diversity, style diversity, lifestyle diversity.”

Of course, the country superstar hopes to find some more female artists to introduce within the genre. Like many, she believes that the female voice is lacking in country and wants to help shorten the gender gap. “So that’s why I’m doing this show,” Twain stressed. “I wanted a show that when you talk about diversity, that includes gender diversity. Style diversity. Lifestyle diversity. All of that. So of course I want to see more women on country music radio, and [having] the opportunity to get out there and be heard.”
