Sierra College Project Is Making Face Shields For Medical Professionals
And volunteers are needed to help assemble the masks
By kncitom on April 1, 2020
Sierra College’s Hacker lab is currently making medical face shields in an effort to help doctors, nurses and specialists stay as safe as possible during this Coronavirus pandemic. It’s called #OpShieldsUp and they need volunteers, as well as assistance from others with certain specific tech credentials.
According to the Hacker Lab website, people are needed to help assemble the masks so they can be distributed. All materials are thoroughly disinfected ahead of time and other precautions are being taken to ensure the safety of volunteers, including the provision of gloves and masks. They are also looking for help from anyone with 3-D printing experience and/or materials to donate.
There are, as you can imagine, stipulations to becoming a volunteer, and anyone interested in doing that, or helping in any other way, should first visit the Hacker lab website. To do that, just click here
You can also watch the following video from the lab’s Twitter page
Please watch- This sums up what we’re doing.
What it doesn’t say is how many *desperate* hospitals are calling and begging for shields. Zero availability.
The best way to help is to donate –> https://t.co/wddyUVM1Hv
We are 100% volunteer + shields FREE to hospitals.❤️🙏 pic.twitter.com/N1oPfWPdLP
