South Lake Tahoe Restaurants Banned From Using Plastic Containers And Utensils
By Admin on April 5, 2018
As of October, restaurants in South Lake Tahoe can no longer use plastic foam containers. Plastic cutlery and straws are also a no go.
The goal of the plastic ban it to reduce litter and promote environmentally sustainable practices. According to KCRA, compostable, biodegradable and recyclable containers will be the new normal.
If someone violates the plastic ban, they will get a warning. But only until April. After that, a fee will be issued.
Apparently Davis already has a similar ban in place. So, it seems like this is pretty doable. And really, it is best for the environment. As a patron, I don’t really care what type of container by item is in. So, ditch the plastic foam containers South Lake Tahoe and bring on the new ones!
