Strange Light In Sky Had People Confused Last Night [PICS]

Mysterious lights lit up the California night sky on Sunday night, which ended up being the rocket launch of a SpaceX rocket from Vandenberg Air Force Base.

People took to social media last night, after seeing a bizarre flying object lighting up the night sky. Much of California was able to witness the glowing trail and colors of what was later to be revealed a SpaceX rocket.

According to BBC, the Elon Musk owned company launched an Argentine satellite on Sunday night at about 7:20 p.m. PST. The rocket was launched from Vandenberg Air Force Base, which is located on the coast northwest of Los Angeles.

After the launch, the reusable booster rocket made its safe return landing about 8 minutes later. SpaceX has attracted business and public attention with their developed reusable rockets. The company has stated that this launch is reportedly the 30th successful landing of one of their booster rockets. This launch is also the first land touchdown on the West Coast, with previous landings taking place in Florida and on sea platforms.
