Student’s Kind Gesture Keeps Another Student From Failing

Winston Lee is a high school teacher in Whitesburg, Kentucky. Lee says in 12 years of teaching he’d never seen anything like what happened a couple of weeks ago. Lee posted the following on facebook which has been shared over 55,500 times.
Thousands of comments of support came pouring in from all over the country. At the same time there were those who took the student to task. One comment read, “How is getting points you didn’t earn going to get you to understand the material and help you live up to the expectations of the higher grade you just received? The student who unselfishly offered the bonus points replied with this: “Not all are great test takers or in a comfortable situation at home that allows them to focus on studying. I feel really great that it helped this student from 58 points to passing. We don’t know what her situation may have been.”
The student who gave away his bonus points still got an A.
