After hinting that a reunion might be coming, Sugarland has officially announced that they will be returning with new music.

Big Machine Label Group sent an email out stating that Sugarland is expecting to make an announcement “in the coming weeks.” No other details were mentioned, according to the Boot.

The duo has been apart since 2011, working on solo projects since then. Jennifer Nettles and Kristian Bush have both expressed interest in reuniting, however. Bush told the Boot earlier this year:

“That project’s beginning time is really up to Jennifer. That’s really [because of] the nature of how radio works: Her voice, as the lead singer of the band, is the voice that kind of defines it. And if she’s working a solo project, it’s very difficult, probably for a listener, to tell the difference [between a solo single and a Sugarland single]. So we as a band can’t do anything until Jen decides to do it.”

The stars have finally aligned for the two artists to the delight of Sugarland fans everywhere.
