After burning for more than two weeks, the Camp Fire has finally been fully contained.  According to CBS 13, the fire began on November 8 in the Sierra Nevada foothills.

The deadliest wildfire in California history killed 85 people and scorched 153,000 acres over 17 days. 19,000 buildings were destroyed, around 14,000 of which were residential buildings per the Washington Post

“It’s certainly good to be done with the containment of this fire, even though there’s still a lot of work to be done moving forward,” fire spokeswoman Jennifer Erickson said. However, the good news of the fire’s end is muted by the fact that there are still 249 people are still missing and thousands of people are still displaced.

This is going to be a long process for those affected. If you’d like to help out, here’s a list of organizations to donate to. Additionally, there are still tickets available for our Camp Fire benefit concert. All of the proceeds are going to the Salvation Army.
