The Dixie Chicks Drop “Dixie” from Their Name

With the political climate we are in right now, and on the heels of Lady A dropping “Antebellum” from their name, the Dixie Chicks have officially dropped “Dixie” from their name.

They will now be known simply as “The Chicks”. They changed both their website and their social media handles.

On their website, they posted this: “We want to meet this moment.” And in a press statement, they added, “A sincere and heartfelt thank you goes out to ‘The Chicks’ of [New Zealand] for their gracious gesture in allowing us to share their name. We are honored to co-exist together in the world with these exceptionally talented sisters. Chicks Rock!”

Along with the name change, they also dropped a song “March, March”, which you can check out below:
