A woman was driving to lunch from her office one day when suddenly a snake popped out from her air vent, as if it were giving her directions.

Here’s a great video to watch if you love air conditioning. And by great, we mean totally not great. Lora Goff experienced the “not great” part of the story on her lunch break. She was driving down the road, and out popped a snake from her car’s air vent.

Lora says “At first, I was in disbelief. I was like, ‘Oh, my God…’ The thing that caught my attention is it made a noise. That’s when I saw it coming out.” She says she heard a rattling sound, and looked down next to her steering wheel. “The thing that caught my attention is it made a noise. That’s when I saw it coming out,” she says. Lora saw the snake’s head sticking out of the vent. One of her other first thought was “Nobody’s going to believe this.” So she took a picture, of course.

Once she pulled over, after staying remarkably calm, she called 911. She said that when the animal control officer arrived to the scene, the officer confessed something. Lora says that the officer said he was also afraid of snakes. D’oh! The officer tried to grab the snake with a snake tong, but the snake then fell and slithered under the driver’s seat. The officer looked, but didn’t see the snake.

THEN SHE DROVE BACK TO WORK. She drove back, with the snake still in her car, so she wasn’t late for work. Give this woman a raise, STAT. Eventually she borrowed a co-worker’s car and got some glue traps, like what you’d use for mice. She put them in her car, and by the next morning, the snake was caught. Check out more on the story here, and a picture of the snake.
