Reaching out to a radio show is easy. Reaching down deep to help a veteran who has some unresolved issues is a lot more difficult.

Rocklin resident Deseree Rosebrock sent us an email recently. With Veteran’s Day coming up, she wanted to share an experience she had just had with her father-in-law, a Vietnam Veteran named Carl. Her story was so moving, we decided to ask her and her husband Warren (Carl’s son) to come into the studio to share it in person.

If you have a vet in your life who’s been reluctant to talk about their experience – whether it’s Vietnam, the Gulf War, Afghanistan…wherever- take 15 minutes and listen to this.

Now, maybe the veteran in your life doesn’t want to talk. That’s fine. Of course you don’t want to push it. Some mental wounds go so deep professional help is needed.

But maybe they do want to talk. Maybe enough time has gone by that the scars aren’t as tender anymore. But maybe they never knew how to start the conversation. Deseree’s story might help you help them.
