According to People, the country singer revealed some sad news on his Instagram and Twitter accounts. In a statement, he said:
“It is with great sadness that Laney and I share with you the news that our sweet Oakleigh Klover Hayes was born this morning at the hospital and now is safely in heaven. Thank you for honoring our privacy as we grieve.”
This was followed by another statement that likely came from his manager, and it said:

Back in May, Hayes explained to Taste of Country that they were expecting little Oakleigh on June 8th. They were also planning a home birth because they didn’t want to have to drive anywhere once Lacey went into labor. He explained:
“We’ve almost had a couple in the car, and I’m not the guy you want to have a kid in the car with. I’m pretty chill, but once birth starts I go the opposite of chill.”
Outside of Oakleigh, Walker Hayes also has three daughters and three sons. We wish both him and his wife the best during this difficult time.
