One of the funniest moments from the ACMs came not on the show, but from a Kelly Clarkson tweet:
The greatest thing by far that happened to me tonight was being asked to move because some guy thought I was a seat filler at the ACM’s tonight 🤣😂 #CantWinEmAll 💁🏼♀️ literally, it made my night because he was so serious, and I just politely said no hahaha!! pic.twitter.com/LuQDloKgR3

Little known fact: when an artist gets up because they have to accept or present or they just need to use the restroom, “seat fillers” take their spot so the arena always looks full. It’s an actual thing.
And pretty much anyone can become a seat filler at most awards shows, although there are a few requirements. There are companies like seatfillersandmore.com and AudiencesUnlimited.com where you can sign up but, you need to dress for the part, you can’t interact with celebrities in any way, you won’t get reimbursed for your attire, you probably won’t get paid AND you have to sign a non-disclosure agreement. Some companies also require an 8×10 head shot and shows, like the Academy Awards, only accept seat fillers who are relatives of people working on the telecast.
Still, might be a cool thing to check out if you like that sort of thing. Who knows…you might end up next to Kelly Clarkson.
