There’s a brand new “audio illusion” baffling people on the internet. It’s a chant by an English soccer crowd and, trust us, despite what you might here, it’s completely Safe For Work.

It’s similar to the Laurel/Yanni debate a few years back and it all comes down to how your brain works both by itself and when suggestions are made by others (click here for a good explanation).

As for this particular piece of audio, guesses as to what they’re chanting range from “Bart Simpson Bouncing” to “Lobsters In Motion”. Other guesses include

Rotating pirate ship
That isn’t my receipt
That is embarrassing
Lactates in pharmacy
I’m chasing Martian
Baptism piracy
That isn’t mercy

So, give it a listen and see what you hear. Then scroll below to find out what they’re actually saying

Ok, ready to find out what they’re actually chanting?

Alrighty, here ya go: it is purportedly audio from fans at a soccer match in Derby County England, and they’re saying “This is embarrassing“. Now that you know that, bet that’s what you’ll hear too
