Woman Caught Smuggling 227 Pounds Of Illegal Bologna Into U.S.

Customs and Border Protection agents in El Paso arrested the woman after they found 227 pounds of illegal bologna in her car.

A woman was recently arrested for smuggling contraband bologna into the U.S….

According to SF Gate, Customs and Border Protection agents in El Paso picked up the woman after they found 227 pounds of the illegal meat in her car.

The 23 tubes of bologna were found hidden under the rear seats of her car during a second examination.

While the woman had initially had nothing to declare when crossing the border from Mexico, she later amended that declaration.

Why was the bologna banned?

It contains pork and it’s allowed to be brought into the country.

The woman now faces a $1,000 fine, and all the bologna was destroyed.
