Dorcas Reilly, the woman who created the famous Thanksgiving dish, the green bean casserole, has sadly passed away at the age of 92.

According to Yahoo, Reilly was a Campbell Soup kitchen supervisor in 1955 when the recipe was first displayed. Reilly combined the ingredients of green beans, cream of mushroom soup, and crunchy fried onions as the topping for an Associated Press feature of the dish.

Campbell Soup officials cite Reilly as the lead person behind the recipe. The dish is reportedly the most popular to ever come out of Campbell’s corporate kitchen. During the holidays last year, the website for the recipe received over 2.7 million visits.

Dorcas Reilly worked periodically for Campbell’s between the late 1940’s and 1988, when she retired as manager for Campbell’s kitchen. In 2002, the original recipe card was donated to the National Inventors Hall of Fame.
