It’s not too surprising with the recent spike in cases in Sacramento County that some of our favorite eateries would be affected.

Zocalo announced on it’s Instagram account that the midtown location will be closing until Saturday due to two employees testing positive for COVID-19.

They mentioned that both employees had not been in the restaurant for about 10 days, but decided to shut down anyway in order to sanitize the entire place and let the employees regroup.

“With cases rising in our community, we knew that Zócalo was not immune to the pandemic. Despite our absolute best efforts to prevent it, we have been made aware of two separate (COVID)-19 test results within our midtown restaurant,” Zocalo wrote.

Zoca Familia,⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ With cases rising in our community, we knew that Zócalo was not immune to the pandemic. Despite our absolute best efforts to prevent it, we have been made aware of two separate Covid-19 test results within our Midtown restaurant. As soon as we became aware, we swiftly followed all of the required and recommended CDC, and Local & County health guidelines and instruction. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ We do want to share that the employees affected have not been inside our midtown facility in over 10 days. To err on the side of caution, we have decided to voluntarily close our Midtown location for 3 days, re-opening Saturday, July 11 for outdoor dining, delivery & curbside takeout. We will utilize this time by maximizing our deep cleaning procedures already in place, and to give our team some time to process and rest. The trust, health & happiness of our team and community is vital to us. As we navigate through this pandemic, we will continue to rely on the guidance of the Local, County, and CDC health experts. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Our Fountains & UV locations are open for patio dining, delivery & curbside take out. Those teams are ready to serve you until we can see you again in Midtown. If you placed a reservation in Midtown this week, our team will reach out to you to discuss rescheduling for a later date or at another one of our locations. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ We appreciate your understanding and continued support for our Zócalo team members.
