On Saturday morning, Antonio Navarrete was driving home from work at Zocalo in University Village. Then, around 12:30 AM, he was hit by a drink driver and killed.

According to ABC 10, 38-year-old Xoury Soukouang hit Antonio at the intersection of El Camino Avenue and Evergreen Street.

Xoury was charged with gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated. He’s booked at the Sacramento County Jail on $350,000 bond.

“[Antonio] was the light of everyone’s life. He literally lit up the bar,” Jewel Carbone, who manages Zocalo-UV, said. A co-worker of Antonio added that he had the best smile “hands down.”

La Sonrisa Cocktail At Zocalo Locations

Because of this, all Zocalo locations are selling a special cocktail. It’s called La Sonrisa, which means “the smile” in Spanish. Proceeds from the cocktail will go to Antonio’s family.

So, if you want to help, make sure to stop by Zocalo this week and order one or more of the La Sonrisa cocktail.
