Chain Restaurant In Downtown Sacramento Closes After A Year—New Local Spot To Take Its Place

Well, that was fast. Bennigan’s on K Street in downtown Sacramento has called it quits. I remember being excited to see it was coming to town last summer. But, I actually never went there. So, sorry Bennigan’s.

No word yet on why they decided to end their time in Sacramento. However, another local restaurant has already taken over. The Grid will have their soft opening this Monday, September 24. Kent Souza is the Executive chef for The Grid at 1000 K St. I’m not sure if he is still the Executive Chef with Hoppy Brewing, but he was when they moved locations earlier this year.

His plan is to create dishes inspired by his favorites at other well-known Sacramento eateries, according to Sacramento Business Journal.
