If you want to experience Disneyland’s Pirates of the Caribbean as it currently is, you have about a month. The ride will be temporarily closed to remove a controversial scene starting April 23. So what is the scene that is getting nixed? That would be the Bride Auction.

Currently, visitor come across a sign reading, “Auction: Take a wench for a bride.” Also, there’s a line of pretty miserable looking women near it. Once it is revamped, the scene will show the current red-headed woman overseeing a auction of pirate loot.

The First Change For Pirates of the Caribbean ride

This is the second time the Pirates ride will be getting an update. In 1997, Disneyland replaced a  scene where pirates were chasing frightened women. You can see how that would have negative implications.

It looks like the ride will remain closed until June 7 to remove the Bride Auction. But, that’s not confirmed according to Mercury News.
