“She Ain’t In It” is the 4th release from Jon Pardi’s California Sunrise album.

Written by Clint Daniels (“Brokenheartsville”) and Wynn Varbel (“Waitin’ on a Woman”, “A Little More Country Than That”), the song is a bit of a departure for Jon’s other radio singles, all of which have been mid-to-up-tempo numbers. Jon tells Entertainment Tonight the ballad was originally on hold for George Strait–which is something artists commonly do with a song they really like. But when the King of Country took the hold off, Jon was right there to swoop it up. He says he loves that the song is reminiscent of older country, but still sounds contemporary.

While much of the video looks like the foothills outside of his hometown of Dixon, Jon says it was actually shot near Los Angeles, in black and white, which Jon said he loved. He told ET it reminded him of the old Paul Newman movie, Hud and that the “cinematic” feel is perfect for the song’s mood of lost love. Check the video out, below

Jon, by the way, is gonna be in town Thursday to open for Miranda Lambert at Golden One Center. If you’re going, stop by Malt and Mash ahead of time (at 7th and K) for a chance to win front row seats AND, backstage meet and greets with Jon.
