Maren Morris is trying to make some dream collaborations come true. She said that she reached out to Carrie Underwood to work on a project together!
“I wrote to Carrie a few weeks ago [hoping] that we could do something together,” Morris told Keeping Track. “So, [maybe there will be] a collaboration one day.”
What with her serving as an opening act for Niall Horan, and pop electronic producers for “The Middle,” Morris isn’t against working with artists outside of country, as well.
“I’d love to work with Ed Sheeran because he’s just so sentimental and composes all of his songs,” she added. “So as a songwriter [with] my repertoire I feel like [it’d be] a good fit. Bruno Mars, too … I think as an artist, I will always stroll between the country world and the pop world, because if I had to choose, I would choose both.”

Though she is still on tour with Horan until the end of the year, the country singer is still working hard on her sophomore album.
“I think it’s going to be slightly more pop and soulful than Hero, but not as pop as Zedd’s song [‘The Middle’],” she confirmed. “So the definitive answer is that it will be a bit like Hero. The pop sound is probably going to be more interesting at this stage, but the country will still prevail.”
