Miranda Lambert’s MuttNation contributed $189,000 towards 50 animal shelters across the United States.

Miranda and her mom, Bev, started MuttNation in 2009 in order to end animal homelessness and suffering. According to Nash Country Daily, the organization has raised millions to help in the creation and maintenance of animal shelters. MuttNation also works hard to promote pet adoption.

In their latest mission, Miranda and Bev donated grants between $3,000 and $5,000 to shelters across the country. The Mutts Across America program contributed $189,000 total. Miranda and Bev chose shelters based on “rate, volunteerism, fiscal responsibility, community presence and more.”

Mutts Across America has raised over $775,000 since its creation.
