Company Offering Fur-ternity Leave For New Pet Parents

BRB, I have to go apply for a job at this Minnesota company. Nina Hale in Minneapolis just restructured their benefit package, which now includes fur-ternity.
The VP, Allison McMenimen called it a “no-brainer. The idea of offering benefits that just help keep employees at the office, that’s over.” she told the NY Times. Now, fur-ternity isn’t actually time off work. It’s the ability to work from home for a week when you get a new pet. Which still means you’re doing work, but really does set you up for success as a new dog or cat owner. Or whatever other pet you choose to get.
Although a NY company, mParticle, DOES offer paid off time for new rescue dog parents. TWO WEEKS of paid paw-ternity.
“For a lot of people, their pets are their children,” said VP McMenimun added. Which is stupid true for my fam. “Our employees are at all different stages of their lives.”
