Full House did it. Will and Grace. Roseanne, too.

so-called reboots–the act of restarting a popular TV series later in the lives of the characters–are kind of a thing right now and recently, Reba McEntire sparked interest in the resurrection of her popular WB show when she tweeted the following

So, what about it? In a KNCI exclusive, Pat and I reached out to our old friend Melissa Peterman, who played Barbara Jean on the show, which aired from 2001 to 2006. And while she made it clear a remake of the series isn’t imminent, she’s heard the talk and she said the cast is interested.

“Well I know Reba and Chris (Rich, who played Reba’s ex-husband) and Jo (Joanna Garcia, who played Reba’s daughter Cheyenne) and…I know we want to, and the fans want us to. I think it’s a matter of who owns the show and all that stuff but…I’m in.”

Melissa says the cast stays in touch and still “all love each other” so rounding everyone up wouldn’t likely pose a problem. Any thoughts on if it would be a one-off or, maybe, a full series reboot?

“I have no idea. I know (Reba) would be up for a movie or for a show…any of it. I think it’s just a matter of logistics, really.” She says the stars would kinda “have to align” but that “The desire is there”.

Melissa thinks it’d be “interesting” to see what’s up with the show’s characters 15 years later, and we don’t disagree. We hope it happens!

Hear what she had to say, below (And can we just add? We love this woman SO MUCH! It was great to chat with her again)
