Randy Houser’s busier than you. Well, at least me. He’s touring, promoting a new album, starring in two movies, and has 3 kids at home (2 of them under the age of 5). I guess the most surprising news is that he’s in two upcoming movies. The first is “Killers Of The Flower Moon.” It stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert De Niro, Brendan Fraser, and Lily Gladstone. Directed by Martin Scorsese it’s the true story of the murders of Osage Indians in 1920’s Oklahoma after oil was discovered on their land. Randy plays the role of Scott Mathis, the owner of the town’s general store. The movie got a 9 minute standing ovation at the Cannes Film Festival and will be in theaters October 20th.

Randy’s second movie, also a true story, is called “The Hill.” It’s about a physically handicapped kid named Ricky Hill who needs leg braces to walk. His dream? To play professional baseball. While his dad, played by Dennis Quaid discourages it, Randy Houser, in the role of Ray Clemons, is Ricky’s mentor and constant support system. “The Hill,” is written by the same people who wrote “Rudy,” and “Hoosiers,” and will be in theaters August 18th.

Besides the big screen, you can catch Randy Houser on stage, live, at this year’s Golf And Guitars on Tuesday, Jun 27th at Haggin Oaks Golf Complex. For info and tickets head to kncifm.com
