The title track of Faith Hill and Tim McGraw’s recent duets album, The Rest of Our Life, is the subject of a new copyright lawsuit.
According to Nash Country Daily, Songwriters Sean Carey and Beau Golden filed a complaint in a New York federal court that claims “The Rest of Our Life” is “blatant copying” of their 2014 song, “When I Found You.”
Tim and Faith are not the song’s writers….those credits go to four people including Ed Sheeran…but because they sing it, they’re included in the $5 million lawsuit, which alleges the melody is a direct rip off of a relatively unknown song called When I Found You, recorded in 2015 by an artist named Jasmine Rae.
