After news hit that three teens in Massachusetts were killed in a car accident, Blake Shelton, who had no ties with those affected, sent a message of understanding and comfort to the teens who lost their friends.

He recorded the message on Nov. 17, the anniversary of the death of his brother, Richie, who also died in a car crash at 24 years old, according to the Telegram.

Shelton says in the video:

“I completely know how it feels. I lost my brother in a car accident. I can understand how you guys feel,” he said. “It’s the worst possible feeling. It’s confusion. It’s anger. It’s just an overall brokenness that’s just gonna take a lot of time to heal.”
