Country Artists Share Concerns For Hurricane Michael Victims
By Admin on October 12, 2018
As Hurricane Michael made landfall earlier this week along the gulf coast, several country artists tweeted their thoughts about it, including Luke Bryan, for whom the hurricane was personal
Hey everyone. Pray for my people. So many dear people I know are being affected. My mother and so many friends live in Mexico beach. And now it’s bearing down on Albany and Leesburg.

Luke hasn’t tweeted since then so we don’t know the fate of his mom or his friends–although it’s probably safe to assume they evacuated since most of that town did. A bigger question is how their homes and businesses fared; Mexico Beach was hit with winds in excess of 150 miles per hour and early reports are nearly the whole town has been literally flattened.
Jake Owen is a Florida native, and early on tweeted his support of residents there, promising help when the time comes
I’m really heartbroken by the devastation from Hurricane Michael down in my home state of FL. I’m vowing to help anyway I can, from music to donations. I will rally our Nashville troops. Stay strong FL. We are a team. My thoughts and prayers are with y’all.

And Jason Aldean tweeted concern over a favorite vacation spot for him and his family– St George Island, off the Florida coast near where the hurricane made landfall
Our little island is getting pounded by Hurricane Michael right now. This is our second home and we love this place. We are thinking about everyone down there and hope yall are ok! pic.twitter.com/oLKKuekyLG

So far, the death toll from Michael has reached 11 and it’s estimated that damages will be well into the billions. You can bet once recovery efforts are well along the country community will come together and help those folks hurt by this latest disaster.
