Great LOCAL Father’s Day Places To Visit Or Buy From

That one Father’s Day Tom got a facial and pedicure

Are dads hard to buy for? Moms, Mother’s Day – it’s flowers, a sappy card, breakfast in bed. Bam. Covered.

But gift ideas for Father’s Day are all over the place – from, like, custom beer coozies and bottle openers to grills, power tools, drones! Father’s Day gift ideas run the gamut.

So, in an effort to simplify and streamline the Father’s Day gift dilemma, we asked for great, local places to either take dad, or get something for him. The responses were excellent, and here are some of our faves

Sandy recommends Placerville Hardware, which is the oldest continuously operating hardware store in the West. Plus, right down the street? Eileen recommends The Man Cave, which is full of collectibles like neon signs, posters, sports cards and a ton more.

For the thirsty dad, Debbie suggests Hillenbrand Brewery in Newcastle. Not only is it set on a beautiful piece of property in rural Placer Country, on Sunday they’re also doing axe throwing and cigars!

Dave’s Pumpkin Patch in West Sacramento is also having a dad-fest of sorts: Kelly told us they’re doing a Father’s Day BBQ both Saturday and Sunday, with lawn games, a jumping pillow (for the kids, we assume) and more. And, speaking of barbecue, a friend of ours, Kevin Darling, is doing a grilling demonstration-with samples- Saturday at the Loomis Ace Hardware. Kevin is the guy who grilled up food for Mosquito Fire victims last summer in Auburn. He’s got a great heart, and an an even bigger grill!

Other suggestions: Sacramento Dinner Train in Old Sacramento. The California Auto Museum. The El Dorado County Fair. Lincoln Potters baseball. The Crawdad Festival in Isleton. The excellent local country band Moonshine Crazy on the deck at Swabbies On The River, and on and on. If you’d like to see the full list of suggestions from our FB post, just click here.

Oh, and our boss says dad would love tickets to Golf and Guitars, which is coming up June 27th and you know what? We’d have to agree. It IS an awesome event. Click here for ticket info

Hope it helps and please, whatever you do, don’t just get your dad a coozie.

Tell him Happy Father’s Day for us!
