Family is everything for Jimmie Allen. He and his three-year-old son’s mom make sure to work as a team to support their baby.

“We are good friends,” Allen told Taste of Country. “When you are dating, sometimes things work out and sometimes they don’t … but at the end of the day, it’s about being friends and being there for our son, which we both are.”

Allen knows that his son, Aiden, is in great hands when he has to leave for long stretches on tour.

“My family is super important to me,” he said. “How I grew up and where I came from is super important.”

His video for “Best Shot” certainly mirrors that sentiment. It shows pictures of himself and his family from his childhood onward. Aiden definitely enjoys looking at the photos in the video.

“He’s used to these phones where you can zoom in on everything, so I handed him a picture of me as a kid and he was like, ‘Dad, is that you?’ So, he takes the picture [in the music video] and puts his finger on it and tried to open and expand on it,” he laughed. “He couldn’t understand why he couldn’t get closer.”
