Macy’s Backstage, A Discount Department Store, Is Coming To Downtown Commons

Macy’s Backstage is coming to the Downtown Commons in Sacramento. Think Nordstrom Rack, TJ Maxx or Ross. According to the Sacramento Business Journal, the store will offer items at a 20-80% discount.
Senior vice president of off-price, Michelle Israel said, “Macy’s Backstage was designed to bring great deals and the fun of the hunt into…Macy’s. Frequent deliveries ensure there is always a new reason to come in and shop.”
So, this Downtown Commons Macy’s Backstage is going to be huge. We’re talking 10,000 square feet. It’s slated to open up on September 15. It will be located in the current Macy’s Kid’s Department, which will move to the second floor.
Because the new store is operated separately, it should bring some more jobs to the area. However, I’m not sure how many or when they will be listed. But, keep an eye out!
