A man old enough to know better stole a baseball meant for a little boy at the Cubs game yesterday.  The boy, who looks to be maybe 4, was seated in the front row with his grandmother.  Chicago Cubs base coach Will Venable looks directly at the boy and underhands a baseball to him.  The kid, being 4, misses.  The ball lands at his feet and rolls backwards.  The man seated behind him grabs the ball and instead of handing it to the boy, emphatically hands to the woman seated next to him who looks then looks very content.  Watch her when the ball is thrown to the little boy.  As soon as he misses it both of her hands go out as if to say, Come On!  How did you miss that!!   Take a look:

The moment was aired and re-aired several times on Cubs TV. It didn’t take the Cubs long to make it right. Their all-star second baseman Javy Baez signed a ball for the boy and it was delivered to him at his seat along with a second baseball.

He looks pretty happy! Nice job Cubs. And to the grinch seated behind the boy who grabbed the ball and kept it (or regifted it), hope it was worth it.
