Movie Theater Sodas Contain High Levels Of Bacteria According To Study

Well now I don’t feel bad about sneaking my own soda and snacks in to movie theaters. BBC One tested concessions at 30 movie theaters and found that seven locations sold drinks with unacceptable bacteria levels.

Salmonella was discovered in some drinks and listeria was found on a cup holder. Samples were sent to a lab and some of the drinks had 10,000 times the acceptable level of bacteria. 10,000 TIMES! Others were between 70-100 times the acceptable level of bacteria. Which is still nuts.

Of course, it would seem that 23 locations didn’t have a huge issue. And the study was done in the U.K. But, I would venture to guess that findings on this side of the pond would be similar.
