New Fair Oaks Restaurant To Be Opened In Former Mortuary

Well, I will 100% be going to Shangri-La when it opens later this year in Fair Oaks. The restaurant will be located at 7960 Winding Way, which was formerly Russ Monroe’s Cremation and Burial Services.
Sommer Peterson is a Fair Oaks native who owns Mission Bowling Club in San Francisco, according to the Sacramento Bee. Shangri-la will highlight the location’s history rather than hiding it. “This could be so cool and if I don’t do it, I’m going to regret it,” Peterson said.
Of course, the restaurant will feature more than food. It will also have, bocce ball, fire pits and a children’s play area. And cocktails—one of which is slated to be called Corpse Reviver No. 2.
Additionally, the restaurant will employ 30-40 people and rumor has it a well-known chef will be part of the biz.
