Sacramento-Area City Named Safest Bicycling City In The Country

Add this to the pro column for Davis. The college town just topped the list of the safest cities in the country for bicyclists, according to The Bee. Not surprisingly, the majority of cities on the list were small to medium sized.

The Top 10 are as follows:

BERKELEY, California
BOULDER, Colorado
EUGENE, Oregon
PALO ALTO, California
CHICO, California
MOUNTAIN VIEW, California
FORT COLLINS, Colorado
SANTA BARBARA, California
NEW HAVEN, Connecticut

The west coast has the most bicycle friendly cities, with many in California according to the ADT report.

Davis transportation planner Brian Abbanat said, “We have an engaged bike community that has high expectations of what we should be doing to support cycling. It is part of who we are.”
