Sacramento Banker Quits Job To Carve Pumpkins Full-Time [Photos]

It’s never too late to start doing what you love, and at 50 years old, Alex Wer did just that. The Elk Grove resident has been carving pumpkins since 2009, but he has been doing it full-time for four months now.

 

 

Wer’s journey began in 2009, according to KCRA, when he carved a pumpkin for his wife’s work. Since then, he has had a steady influx of requests.

 

 

“Many of my clients, once they get one pumpkin, they want another one, one guy built a shelf for his collection.”

 

 

 

Wer uses artificial pumpkins to make his insanely awesome art work. I can see how people would want to have an entire collection!
