The Buddhist Church of Sacramento’s Japanese Culture & Food Bazaar is back for its 72nd year this weekend. It’s a great way to learn more about Japanese culture right in your backyard!
The event is going to be held on Aug. 11 – 12 this year from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on both days, reports Rafu. There’s going to be lots of food, music, and activities!
Some highlights include performances by Japanese folk musicians, dancers and singers, with a special show by The East Wind Band on Saturday evening. Ongoing exhibits will also feature Japanese handmade doll demonstrations, calligraphy, and flower arrangement. It’s a great event for the whole family with plenty of children’s games set up, as well!

Of course, there’ll be no shortage of Japanese dishes and desserts.
Admission is free, and there’s free parking underneath the freeway at 8th and W streets. There’s also a free shuttle bus that goes to the bazaar grounds every few minutes.
