People are calling a group of three young schoolboys heroes after they helped prevent a tragic death.
According to The Shade Room, 13-year-old Devonte Cafferkey, 14-year-old Sammy Farah, and 12-year-old Shawn Young were walking home from school recently when they saw a scary sight.
On the edge of an overpass was a man sitting with a rope around his neck. Sensing he was going to do something drastic, the three boys quickly ran over and tried to talk him down. However, the man still decided to jump, causing the boys to grab onto him and prevent his fall. They also called over two other passerby’s to help them.
Thankfully, they were able to save the man’s life in the end. Even more, the Royal Humane Society is honoring all five for their life-saving intervention.

Shawn Young’s mom, Carol, told the Mirror how proud she is of the boys, saying:
“I am extremely proud of all three of them, they are all good boys and it’s nice that they are getting recognised for doing something good in the community. Quite often in the national news there are a lot of negative reports about young people so it is nice to have something positive. They are very young and I marvel at how they are all dealing with it. Every time I speak to them I learn something new about what happened. For example, the man was passing out and got heavier for them, I didn’t know that until recently.”
We think these boys are amazing, and we wish them and the man they saved the best.
